This introduction to sewing on a machine includes learning to thread the machine, load the bobbin, thread a bobbin, and reset your thread/needle/bobbin if you end up in a jam. We will review how to choose stitch size, vary the stitch, stitch backwards, and maintain a specific seam allowance. We will also learn about cutting tools, and complete a quick project that will allow you to practice with the machine. Completing this introductory course will prepare you to participate in many other sewing and quilting classes as well as allow you to use the machines during independent studio hours. If you want to bring your personal sewing machine you can, but use of store machines and material is included.
